jeremy cohen, violinist and founder
Composer, arranger, and Bay Area native Jeremy Cohen founded QSF nearly two decades ago out of a passion for bringing multiple genres to the string quartet literature. The group's recordings of his arrangements and compositions have resulted in seven Grammy nominations over the last decade.
joseph christianson, violin
An alum of Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Joe joined the quartet in 2017. An active chamber musician, he also maintains a popular teaching studio in the Bay Area and lives within walking distance of the Golden Gate Bridge.
chad kaltinger, viola
Originally from Chicago, Chad has been traveling the world with QSF since 2012––Guam, China, South Korea, and throughout the US. He is active in the chamber music and opera scene in the Bay Area and beyond and, now based in Santa Cruz, it's doubtful that he's ever moving back to Chicago.
Andres Vera, cello
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Miami, Andres is a San Francisco Conservatory alum and has been in QSF since 2015. Andres prefers to stand when he performs with the quartet, being one of a small number of cellists to master the demands that entails. He is an active chamber musician and educator in San Francisco, and he also sings and plays ukelele.
